Assistant Professor, French
Diana Buglea, PhD
As a French language and literature instructor working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds, I aim to bring them together in a common venture that is equally exciting and challenging.
Huron instructors encourage creativity, as well as critical and interdisciplinary thinking. In my courses, I engage students in a nuanced linguistic and cultural discovery while fostering a learner-centered environment in which the importance of differing cognitive styles, motivation and affective filter is recognized. Year after year, in order to meet student expectations, I review the content of my courses, adapt and vary my teaching methods, enhance student experience with new technologies, and keep reinventing myself as an instructor.
Summary of Research:
• Contemporary French literature
• Autobiographical writing
• Second language acquisition
