The Executive Board and President of Huron have inherited Huron as a trust from our predecessors and hold it in trust for our successors.

We are committed to fostering an institution where planning, priorities, and the allocation of resources support the attainment of our strategic directions and where the culture is transparent and accountable to our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends.

Mission Statement

The mission of Huron is to provide a university education of the highest standards through its undergraduate degree programs in the Arts, Social Science, and Theology and its graduate and professional degree programs.

The institution seeks to attract the most qualified university applicants and holds as its principal academic objectives:

  • to promote educational excellence,
  • to encourage scholarly achievement and critical thinking through excellent teaching and research,
  • to foster international understanding and cooperation,
  • to provide its students with a broad and useful education that will challenge and develop their intellectual skills, enhance their desire for knowledge, and
  • prepare them for positions of leadership and responsibility.

Huron welcomes all persons regardless of faith or denomination and aims to nurture a sense of belonging and community respectful of individual differences and responsive to individual needs; to support an active student life which encourages the personal and intellectual growth of our members; and, through its chapel and theological programs, to affirm our heritage as an Anglican institution.

Strategic Plan

Huron is dedicated to Challenging our Students to be Leaders with Heart.

To achieve our mission and vision, while also staying true to our institution’s values, we’ve worked hard to create a Strategic Plan that will empower our community to deliver an education that fosters the development of students’ character, as much as their academics.

Common University Data Ontario (CUDO)

Ontario’s universities have worked together to develop and compile data to create CUDO, and to let students, parents and the public have ready access to information about each university.

CUDO offers key data, in a common format, about Ontario’s universities:

  • Number of degrees awarded, student enrolment and entering averages – all by program;
  • Number of students living on campus and activities offered;
  • Student satisfaction;
  • First-year tuition and ancillary fees by program;
  • Number of teaching faculty;
  • Undergraduate class size, by year level;
  • Research awards granted; and
  • Graduation rates and employment rates by program.

CUDO has been designed to provide data that has been gathered on a consistent basis.

Compensation Framework

At Huron we strive to attract, recruit and retain the best and brightest faculty and staff to support the achievement our mission to provide a university education of the highest standards through our undergraduate degree programs in the Arts, Social Science, and Theology and graduate and professional degree programs.
