- As a musicologist, I specialize in Austro-German music and culture from about 1850-1945, with a particular focus on Richard Wagner and Gustav Mahler;
- Am starting to add a theological lens to this work by examining, for example, the theological underpinnings of the “Art as Religion” movement in Austro-German aesthetics (e.g., a focus on the transcendent);
- Am in the early stages of work on a monograph on John Henry Cardinal Newman and music;
- The Oxford Movement (Catholic revival in the Anglican Church)
